Blueberry JAM Outdoor Concert
Aug 15, 2019 UPDATE: The concert gates will open at 1:00 pm. Based on the current forecast, the field conditions look like they will be good, so RV's are welcome and we recommend coming before the gates open so we can set you up in the concert area. Once the gates open, you will have to park outside the concert area. Watch for updates if weather conditions change.
Big Belle Farm, located in Mabou Ridge, Cape Breton is pleased to announce that an outdoor concert is planned at the farm on Saturday August 17th, 2019 from 2 to 8 pm.
Big Belle Farm wishes to promote the wild blueberry industry which it has recently joined and some of Cape Breton's finest musical talent. We will also be debuting our newly constructed stage for this event.
The event will take place at a 170 yr old heritage farmstead in Mabou Ridge with a big red barn as the centerpiece. There are large hayfields in front of the barn for parking and tenting. There is a large hayfield in the back of the barn where the concert will take place. An overview of the venue can be viewed here.
Protect Security Services will be providing security for the event.
You must be 19+ to attend.
Online ticket price is $30 + HST. You can purchase tickets online on EventBrite.
You can also purchase tickets at the gate for $35 (includes HST). We won't be processing credit cards so bring cash.
In an effort to keep our first farm event simple, we will not be serving alcohol. You are welcome to bring a chair and cooler with your own snacks and refreshments. The Joint Mobile Grill will be providing food for the event.
We expect temperatures to be warm but we can't guarantee the sun. You may want to bring an umbrella for rain or sun.
If you would like to tent onsite overnight, let us know when you arrive. Cost would be $20 per tent (HST included).
We would also like to accomodate RVs if ground conditions permit. A $20 dollar fee per RV (HST included) would apply if you wish to stay overnight. No hookups. We will update this page 2 days before the event with final details on RV accomodations but if it looks there is not much rain before the event we should be able to accomodate.
Staying overnight is a cheap way to spend a weekend in Mabou. You may want to visit the Red Shoe Pub, hike Cape Mabou, cycle the Celtic Shores Coastal Trail, or swim and relax at one of our beautiful beaches.
Porta Potties will remain onsite after the event and there will be a marked location where you can fill up jugs with water for drinking or washing.
Are you ready to Rock the Ridge!
We hope to see you there.
The headline act for the concert will be Mabou native Rankin MacInnis / Party Boots who have put out a great new album. An eclectic mix of tunes with a great big band feel on
many of the songs. They usally have the crowd on their feet during live shows.
